A whole different set of wheels is coming to the Kansas Speedway. The organizers for Kanrocksas have announced the lineup of food trucks rolling into Kansas City, Kansas, for the music festival on August 5 and 6.
Eleven local trucks will be dishing up fare, alongside some traveling food vendors who will be bringing their own style of cuisine from Chicago and Vermont.
You can get a hot dog from Curbside Cuisine, a burger from Good You, a barbecue sandwich from Gary's on the Go (or the cardiac burger, which puts a 1/3-pound angus burger inside a grilled-cheese sandwich with bacon, and a host of condiments), a torta from Indios Carbonsitos (which had 400 pounds of brisket and pork butt in the smoker to get ready for Kanrocksas), a gyro from Jerusalem Cafe, catfish from Mad Jacks on Wheels, a vegan or meat meatball from the Magical Meatball Tour, gumbo from the Cajun Cabin, or a coffee and cupcake from CoffeeCakeKC
In addition to the food trucks, the Spicy Pie and Crossroads Cafe will be at Kanrocksas. Spicy Pie, a vendor originally from Vermont, is bringing New York-style thin-crust pizza, while the Crossroads Cafe out of Chicago will have vegetarian food and snacks. Food vendors will also be selling shaved ice and Lemon Chill (soft frozen lemonade).
Tickets ($99 for a one-day pass, $179 for two days) are still available for the festival.
