It was 30 years ago the last time a good punk act came out of Reno, Nevada — the straight-edge youth crew 7 Seconds. Cobra Skulls' rockabilly tinged, twangy punk might have little in common with the speedy hardcore of its Nevadan forebears, but the two bands share a verve and energy, as well as a political polemic to change the world for the better.

The Skulls have made the Midwest a frequent tour stop in recent years, stopping through on jaunts with Teenage Bottlerocket and Dead to Me, and they make another stop at RecordBar tonight. Nothington, Bulletproof and Radkey open the all-ages show.

They've got a new album out tomorrow on Fat Wreck Chords, entitled Agitations. You can stream "Solastalgia" via Rolling Stone, or download "Iron Lung" below.
