KSHB Channel 41 reports that city officials were too concerned about public safety — and turning the city into a safe haven for all sorts of strange animals — to make an exception for the hopping 3-foot-tall pet marsupial. Noah has been staying at the Kansas City Zoo since he was captured following his escape. The family had said it would leave Platte City before giving up on Noah. Although, as we've previously reported, the odds of finding a nearby wallaby-friendly community are slim.
Wood, 16, isn't completely resigned to the board's decision though. She started a Facebook group called "Bring Noah Home," to build public support for Noah.
