Oklahoma Joe's named Men's Health 'Manliest BBQ Joint in the Country'

OK Joes has been granted its man card.
Oklahoma Joe's is officially in the running to be named America's manliest restaurant. Men's Health named the KCK restaurant as its manliest BBQ joint in the country — one of nine finalists in categories ranging from steakhouse to seafood shack (Hemingway would be proud).

While it's nice of Men's Health to think of Oklahoma Joe's, I'd submit that it isn't even one of the top-five manliest BBQ joints in Kansas City. Woodyard Bar-B-Que cooks on an outdoor brick smoker. LC's is where you conduct business in the dining room. The Stack's food is an unintentional eating challenge. Johnny's has crinkle-cut fries and man-cave decor (dating from before such a noxious concept existed). And Danny Edwards looks like a construction job site at lunchtime. But even without our manliest representative, Kansas City should be the favorite. KC is like Sparta — if you're from here, you're cut from a different loincloth than the rest of the country.
