Port Fonda opens at 3:30 p.m. for what Patrick Ryan (chef-owner Ryan was named The Pitch's Best Chef) has lovingly referred to as the Tecate Social Club on Thursdays and Fridays. The mostly bearded and beer-drinking crowd doesn't start trickling in for another hour, but that gives you time to sit at the maple tables or bar and let the slow breeze and sunshine roll over you from the open sliding windows.
The Tecate Social is formal only in that it has a Facebook page and imprinted coozies. But what is very real is the $3, 24-oz. Tecate that is a right proper beer special.
