The Kansas City Food Circle's 15th annual exhibition of farmers, the Eat Local & Organic Expo, is set for Saturday, March 30, at the Shawnee Civic Center (13817 Johnson Drive, in Shawnee) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On the following Saturday, the expo shifts to the Penn Valley Community College Gym (3201 Southwest Trafficway) from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Admission is free. Local producers will be on hand to sell seedlings, produce, meat, dairy and eggs. You also can purchase community-supported agriculture subscriptions and learn how to practice aquaponics. Beth Bader, co-author of the The Cleaner Plate Club, leads a seminar on how families can eat seasonally and locally.

Honor the egg during Easter brunch at the Tearoom by Country Keepsakes (501 Main, in Belton). Brunch is offered Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nosh on Kansas City caviar, biscuits and gravy, cheesy potatoes, salmon patties, broccoli rice casserole, a dessert buffet, and many other items. The cost is $15.95 for adults, $9.99 for kids 5 to 10 years old, and $4.99 for kids under 4 years old.

Romance isn't dead; it just needs a little barbecue sauce. The Holiday Inn Country Club Plaza (1 East 45th Street) has a new barbecue package, which includes a signed copy of America's Best BBQ by Paul Kirk and Ardie Davis, Chef Bear's barbecue sauce and dry rub, as well as a dinner at the hotel's Main Street Café with a barbecue-tasting menu. The overnight package starts at $129.

The next Spring Gypsy Market is set for Saturday at the Amigoni Urban Winery (1600 Genessee) from 12 to 6 p.m. The vendors at the bazaar in the West Bottoms include I Loaf You, the beer bread and bagel baker featured in last week's Pitch.

Sorry for Partying is holding the Let's Get Sauced bar crawl in Westport Saturday. The pub crawl kicks off at Kelly's (500 Westport Road) at 2 p.m. and includes stops at Harpo's, Firefly, Buzzard Beach and Harry's Bar & Tables. Admission is $25 in advance or $30 on the day of the event.

A well-priced steak dinner is the food equivalent of getting tucked into bed as a kid. Find easy comfort at the 810 Zone (1672 N.W. Chipman Road) in Lee's Summit, where Monday night is steak night, with a 10-oz. ribeye, a baked potato and a vegetable side for $11.99. The steak dinner is available between 5 and 10 p.m.
