Tickets cost $35 for those in the service industry (with proof of employment) and $75 for general admission. The money raised will be donated to the JJ's Staff Assistance Fund.
The Truck Stop in the Crossroads returns tonight. A gaggle of food trucks will be parked at 21st Street and Wyandotte for First Friday from 6 to 11 p.m. Big Easy Ice, the Blue Moose, Cajun Cabin, Deco Street Eats, the Dog House, El Publito, Jerusalem Cafe, Indios Carbonsitos, El Tenedor, KC BBQ, Little Italy, Lufti's Fried Fish, Monks Roast Beef, Pwaisland Foods, and Smoking Fresh BBQ will all be on hand.
You probably think pub crawls are about endurance. But the truth is, they're just sprints when compared with the annual Brew to Brew Race, which starts at Boulevard Brewing in Kansas City and ends at Levee Park (in Lawrence). Individuals or relay teams of up to 10 people can run the 44.4-mile race that helps raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Solo runners run either Saturday or Sunday while relay teams compete Sunday. The race kicks off with two optional 5-ounce glasses at Boulevard, and there's an after-party at Liberty Hall (tickets cost $12.50) with food, lemonade and beer from both Free State and Boulevard. The entry fee is $50 for solo runners.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Monday through Friday at the area bowling alley's two locations (5399 Martway, in Mission, and 1020 S. Weaver, in Olathe), you can get two games of bowling, shoes, a hamburger, french fries and a small drink, for $10 per person.
The second leg of the Kansas City Food Circle's 15th annual exhibition of farmers, Eat Local & Organic Expo, is this Saturday at the Penn Valley Community College Gym (3201 Southwest Tfwy.) from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Admission is free. Local producers will be on hand to sell seedlings, produce, meat, dairy and eggs. You also can purchase community-supported agriculture subscriptions and learn how to practice aquaponics.
