Update:Authorities say that Lili has been found safe. Police said she was found in Liberty with a relative between 1:30 and 2 Monday afternoon, The Star reports.. The Amber Alert has ended.
Lili Justine High, the Gladstone 5-year-old, is still missing after a suspected kidnapping on Sunday night. Police announced Monday morning that they had taken 38-year-old suspect Tami J. Kelley into custody.
The Kansas City Police Department issued an Amber Alert Monday morning for the missing child. Police say Kelley took High from her father's home last night.
High's father, Bruce High, told police that he didn't know why Kelley took his daughter. He also said he believed Kelley was working with High's mother, Christina R. Willbanks. Kelley reportedly told police her location this morning. When police took Kelley into custody, High was not with her. The Amber Report lists Willbanks as being homeless.
The child was last seen wearing black and red spandex pants, a yellow short-sleeve shirt and no shoes. She is also missing her front four teeth on the top of her mouth.
