The Big Biscuit is hoping to do big breakfast in the Northland. The local breakfast shop, which has four other locations in the metro area, opened last week in the former Chubby's on Barry space at 6332 N.W. Barry Road.

The portions are, no surprise, big. And those hoping to conquer breakfast and only breakfast in a given day should start with the Jim's Platter: two eggs, biscuit and gravy and potatoes. The other locations are in Blue Springs, Independence, Prairie Village and Shawnee. The restaurants are open from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (the Independence and Blue Springs locations open at 7:30 a.m. on Sundays). The Barry Road eatery has an attached patio.
