The body of Chad Rogers, the 30-year-old Liberty resident who has been missing since going out for an evening run on Monday, has apparently been found.
An update on the Facebook page for Bring Chad Rogers Home, posted early Friday afternoon, said the Liberty Police Department had tentatively identified Rogers' body and has since called off the search.
"Friends, it is with a very heavy heart that I communicate that the Liberty Police Department has tentatively located the body of Chad Rogers," read a Facebook statement posted by Tim Friston. "The cause is not known at this time. The search has been called off. Please give the family space over the next few days as they process through the difficulty of this time. In the coming days there will be information regarding contributing financially toward the family. We will post when we have that information."
A spokesman for the Liberty Police Department was not immediately available for comment.
Rogers left his Liberty residence at about 8:30 p.m. on Monday, but his family hadn't seen him since.
Authorities and volunteers had searched areas where Rogers was known to go running and elsewhere. It was not yet clear where his body was found.
We'll post more information as it becomes available.
