The Blockbuster in Westport is closing

Posted By on Wed, Oct 9, 2013 at 7:50 AM

End of an era.
  • End of an era.
Terrible news for people who don't have Netflix or the Internet: The Blockbuster at 905 Westport Road is closing in 16 days. (There's a countdown marker inside the store.) The store is no longer renting movies. But it's liquidating the entire stock, so if you are in the market to buy some movies, video games or television series - or ladders, flier stands and other things that happen to be in the store, see below - stop on by.

That puts us pretty darn close to a Blockbuster-less metro. Moving forward, you'll have to head out to Raytown or Independence the next time you want to rent Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
