The International Folk Alliance Conference & Winter Music Camp comes to KC February 19-23. To get you geared up for the folk blowout, every day we're posting a song we like by one of the event's showcase artists.

Nasvhille's the Howlin' Brothers are Ben Plasse, Ian Craft and Jared Green. They are not technically blood relatives, but on the band's debut album, Howl, released last March, the three men certainly find that they have some serious musical talents in common. The Brendon Benson-produced Howl is a bawdy, old-fashioned shakedown of fiddle picking, banjo railing, bass slapping and guitar mastering. It's feels like a throwback record, and it makes you want to find some moonshine and shoot whiskey and find a hat worthy of the Howlin' Brothers' club.
