For the first time ever, Pretenders guitarist Chrissie Hynde is embarking on a solo tour. This is in support of another first for Hynde: a solo album titled Stockholm, which she released in June. That album carries plenty of references to her former band, but on Stockholm, we hear a lighter, more delicate side of Hynde - owed, perhaps, to chief collaborator Björn Yttling (of Peter Björn and John fame). Her voice is as pliable as ever.

The 62-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will mix classic Pretenders songs into her set, so there is plenty to look forward to. Hynde performs at the Uptown Theater with her new band, Will Travel, on Sunday, November 16. Tickets go on sale Friday, September 12, at 10 a.m.
