Here's the promo trailer for the upcoming Rock N' Fashion Show at Crosstown Station. It features the Beautiful Bodies, Roman Numerals and Audiovox, in addition to a bunch of people wearing pretty clothes from local designers. It's on April 23.
Click through to watch young pretty folks jump on a bed, touch each other and pour beverages over each other's faces. Yup.
Here's the latest place you'll find local hip-hop mover and shaker Reach: on the sophomore album of Paris and Montreal producer Dela. The album is called Changes of Atmosphere, and it has guests on every track (including Talib Kweli, Les Nubians, Large Professor, Elzhi), but Reach, who appears on most of Dela's projects, opens the record with "Go On," an ode to the working class.
Topeka rapper Stik Figa and East Side MC Ron Ron made waves with "Caked Up" in 2009 -- especially here at The Pitch, where we awarded the track the best song of the year. Here's the new video for "Caked Up," directed and edited by Ron Ron with camerawork and production assistance from Vashon of Pyramidwest.tv.
Barry Anderson is one of Kansas City's name-brand artists. (Last year, The Pitch named him as one of our 2010 MasterMinds.) Recently, the artist dropped a video for local band Monta At Odds. Anderson took on the title track of the band's latest, Fuoco Infernale.
There's nothing like an unbiased, honest opinion. Especially if it's delivered in between swigs from a vodka bottle.
Now, because we at The Pitch would know nothing about drunken critiques -- ahem -- we find Hidden Pictures' YouTube video of a drunk dude's philosophical assessment of Hidden Pictures' debut, Synchronized Sleeping, to be particularly amusing. Check it out after the jump.
Seems like the guys over at the Flipside in Shawnee are fans of Adult Swim. The CD, vinyl, DVD and poster shop has a very Tim and Eric-like commercial -- odd facial expressions, heavy foundation, and a criminally bad sweater -- that they've previewed on the store's Facebook page.
I haven't personally been down to check out this store yet and survey the goods. Have you? Is it as epic as this commerical?
Here's a brand-new video from Mac Lethal's new mixtape,, wherein Mac drinks some Most Wanted Vodka, cruises KC, and raps to some deer in the park. The whole thing is due out April 1. Watch the video for "Something I Can Heart" after the jump.
What does DYT mean? (My friend's guess: "Deep young throat?") A quick trip to Urban Dictionary says it stands for Dayton, Ohio. But I'm guessing that CES Cru's new track probably refers to another abbreviation: "Don't ya think?" Whatever -- the chorus, which includes the line Thanks for the P-I-E -- goes down so damn smooth, you won't even notice.
Don't take our review's word(s) for it: watch a clip of Kid Rock's sold-out show at the Sprint Center for yourself. Our photo intern Allie Mason has a video of the concert after the jump.
Over 30 of Kansas City's musicians converged to present a tribute to the Rolling Stones' masterpiece, Exile on Main Street, on Friday night. Our intern, Allie Mason, captured video of the tribute. Check it out after the jump.
