For the first time in three years the MLS Cup Finals will not be a matchup between the LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo, rather Sporting Kansas City and Real Salt Lake are the two teams battling it out for the Philip F. Anschutz Trophy. Sporting Kansas City entered the MLS Cup as the second seed in the East and are here by way of advancing past the New England Revolution on aggregate 4-3 in the Conference Semifinals and beating the Houston Dynamo outright in the Eastern Conference Finals. Sporting KC has now finds themselves in the Finals where they will be hosting Real Salt Lake for the MLS Cup. These two teams only played once this season but it was one of the most exciting games of the year as Sporting KC was able to win the thriller in the 97th minute when defender Ike Opara scored on a header as time expired.
2013 MLS Cup Final tickets are currently averaging $227, down 28% this week and the lowest average price in the last three seasons. This year's final is the first time that the MLS Cup Final is between two small market teams as both cities rank outside the top 25 largest markets in the country which could be the reason for the drop in price. 2013 MLS Cup tickets
are down 5% in average price from last year's final between LA and Houston which averaged $237, and 19% less expensive than the 2011 Final.
Over the course of the regular season Sporting KC tickets
averaged $67 for their home games increasing to $76 for their playoff run. However since this game is a rematch of the most exciting game of the year and for the championship trophy ticket prices have skyrocketed up 239% from the seasons average and 197% above Sporting KC's playoff ticket average for the first two playoff rounds. MLS Cup Tickets will be a bargain if this game is anything close to their first meeting this season, so act fast if you'd like to score your own seats
