Breaking Down Super Bowl Tickets

Posted By on Wed, Jan 22, 2014 at 10:24 AM

Every year there is no ticket in America that is more widely sought after than the Super Bowl. Taking place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on February 2nd Super Bowl XLVIII will feature the two best teams from each conference, the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks. These two teams are familiar with MetLife Stadium as both played and won there this season against the Giants,

Super Bowl tickets are currently averaging $3,935 each, an increase of 14.59% since January 6th alone when tickets averaged $3,449. The Get-in for this game is $1,985 for an Upper Level ticket while the cheapest ticket prices for Mezzanine and Lower Level tickets are $2,723 and $2,799 respectively.

On the other end of the spectrum the most expensive single ticket for Super Bowl XLVIII is listed in the Lower Club 140 for the astonishing price of more than $38,000. This ticket is more than what a suite ticket would cost which are going for anywhere between $318,000 ($10,600/person) and $962,000 ($32,067/person) for a suite of 24 - 30 people.

As far as ticket buyers go the highest amount of traffic for Super Bowl XLVIII has been coming from New York (25%), Washington (18%) and New Jersey (17%) which can be attributed to New York and New Jersey being so close to the event they are making impulse buys and Washington traveling to support their beloved Seahawks. The average sale price for Super Bowl tickets has been substantially less than what they currently listed at, normally selling around $3,398. Additionally we expect ticket prices to drop as we get closer and closer to February 2nd so as the game approaches fans should have a target buy price around $1,500 for Super Bowl XLVIII.

Below is an infographic breaking down Super Bowl tickets, travel, hotels, and other events happening in NYC during Super Bowl week:
