Today the Kansas City Royals wrapped up their series on the road against the Cleveland Indians. The series, which began on Monday could have started off better for Kansas City as the Royals dropped the first game 4-3 but were able to rebound in the second game thanks to pitcher James Shields. In his last two outings Shields has punched out 21 batters and was masterful in game two where he went six strong while only giving up one run en route to clobbering the Indians 8-2.
Keeping in line with the back and forth nature of this series the Indians beat the Royals on Wednesday to pull ahead by scoring two runs late in the game to earn a 5-3 victory. Today the Royals weren't able to split the series as they were unable to recover from a disastrous 5th inning where they gave up five runs on the way to losing the game 5-1.
This was one of the cheapest series the Royals will play in this season as fans could Get-in to each game for under $5 with the four game series having an average price of $36.25; reading $34, $36, $34, $41 for the games respectively. This number is consistent with what the Kansas City Royals have been averaging for the month of April for both their home and away games which clocks in at $36.
After this series the Royals will head East to Baltimore to battle the Orioles in a classic matchup which is averaging $41.66. While Cleveland will head out on the road to California to play the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim before returning home for the Chicago White Sox.
