Orioles @ Red Sox Is This Week's Top Priced MLB Tickets

Posted By on Mon, Jun 30, 2014 at 3:23 PM

With only two weeks left until the All-Star break, each team will be looking to finish up the first half of the season strong. The Oakland A's and Atlanta Braves are both on league leading four game winning streaks as they both top their divisions. With the exception of the Brewers and A's leading in the NL Central and AL West, respectively, all the divisions are being tightly contested so these last two weeks will be pivotal in shaping up the playoff races come late September.

Below is the five most expensive games of the week on the secondary market, according to TiqIQ.

1) 7/6 - Baltimore Orioles at Boston Red Sox | Avg. Price: $150.44

The Baltimore Orioles travel to Boston to face the Red Sox in what is a pivotal AL East matchup. The Orioles are currently 4.5 games ahead of the Red Sox in the division so depending on the outcome of this series, things could get much tighter or the Red Sox will have drifted out of playoff contention. The Red Sox are coming off beating the Yankees two out of three whereas the Orioles have lost two straight. Red Sox vs Orioles tickets have an average price for the game are $150.44, but the get-in price is only $36.

2) 6/30 - Chicago Cubs at Boston Red Sox | Avg. Price: $118.63

Both the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox have gotten off to disappointing starts thus far into the season. The Cubs are in the cellar of the NL Central and the Red Sox are only a few games ahead in the AL East of being in the same position. This is an important interleague series for both teams, as they cannot afford to lose many more games. The average price for Boston Red Sox tickets is $118.63 and the get-in price is $31.

3) 7/4 - Los Angeles Dodgers at Colorado Rockies | Avg. Price: $115.13

This Fourth of July matchup is an intriguing one as Clayton Kershaw looks to start his July the same way he ended his June as he went 6-0 with a .082 ERA with 61 strikeouts and currently has a 28 inning scoreless streak. Also not to mention he threw a no hitter in the process. Colorado is ten games back of the Dodgers and Giants for first place, so if they want any chance of getting back into the divisional race, this series against the Dodgers is a must win. Rockies tickets are going for an average of $115.13 with a get-in price of $41. There will also be a free firework show after the game to celebrate the holiday.

4) 7/4 Miami Marlins at St. Louis Cardinals | Avg. Price: $105.90 (NL Champ Ring Giveaway)

Here is another Fourth of July game as the Miami Marlins travel to St. Louis to take on the Cardinals. Both teams are in third place in their division and are within striking distance of the leaders. The Cardinals are coming off a two game losing streak and Miami is in a bigger slump losing four straight. The Cardinals will be receiving their rings for winning the National League Pennant last season. The average price for St. Louis Cardinals tickets is $105.90 with a get-in price of $36 for the game against Miami.

5) 7/2 Tampa Bay Rays at New York Yankees | Avg. Price: $93.57 (Gehrig Bobblehead)

The Tampa Bay Rays travel up to New York to take on their division rival the New York Yankees. The Yankees have traditionally handled the Rays fairly easily when playing in New York. Yankees tickets for the game are going for an average of $93.57 and you can get-in for $13. This game is also a Lou Gehrig bobblehead day, so make sure to get to the game earlier to get a nice little free souvenir.
