If you grew up around these parts and are looking to start an impromptu high school reunion, this is the place for you. One of the few neighborhood bars in Brookside, the aptly named Brooksider is the weekend destination for frat boys and former-homecoming queens. The bar holds a few weekly events, including a popular Texas hold-´em game every Tuesday as well as live music from bands such as ´80s cover act the Zeros and the funky Disco Dick and the Mirrorballs. The Brooksider just added a heated patio, so if you’re trying to avoid that dork who always drooled over you in sophomore geometry, you can dodge him by stepping outside.
