The Pitch's special operations team of Best Of investigators keeps its eyes open all year. As soon as last year's Best Of issue came out we had our eyes peeled. We spotted Kit Bond and John Ashcroft making political hay in the November elections. In the dead of winter, we thrilled at the sight of the best Mardi Gras feather headpiece. When the weather got warmer, we didn't look away shyly when we discovered the best place to go skinny dipping. And we scoped out the very best places take our visiting in-laws, to make out with total strangers, to get psychotherapy for our pets, to eat a cheap breakfast and to just hang out and smoke a cigarette -- all year round. So here, for your eyes only, is our 2001 edition of the Best of Kansas City.
