Holliday Law Firm

Lawyers look ridiculous in their advertisements. Imagewise, favorite poses include Spellbinding a Fake Jury, Standing Next to Columns and Pulling Book Off Shelf. The text in the ads tends to be even more predictable ("Work injury?"). So the Holliday Law Firm gets two gavels up for its billboard along Bruce R. Watkins Drive. The billboard jazzed up the requisite group shot (Justice in Numbers?) with a nifty slogan: "In God we trust. Everyone else we cross-examine." A nod of humility, followed by a sock to the face. Awesome! The slogan is like a hip-hop update on Ronald Reagan's famous Soviet stance, "Trust but verify." In November 2005, the Holliday Law Firm suffered the loss of family patriarch Harold "Doc" Holliday Jr., a former Jackson County legislator who was convicted of stealing from a scholarship fund. Bowed but unbroken, Holliday regained his law license 10 years before his death. The firm endures. Holliday had two children who became lawyers.
