Frighteningly Uncommon Sense
Frighteningly Uncommon Sense reads like a true tell-all. In her blog, a 32-year-old Overland Park woman who calls herself "Faith Smith" fills us in on her health scares, her sex life and her Office Space moments. We read it like voyeurs peeping through a diary, and Faith has become the girlfriend who helps us set the world straight in a phone call. We share her worries. (An abnormal pap smear has left her in need of a colposcopy and, with no insurance, a hefty bill.) We giggle when she brazenly tells us that she needs to poo. We want to reassure her when she tells us she has a fat ass. We want to hear it all, especially when she reveals that she's had 13 or 14 partners and used a condom once. But she's clean; she passed gonorrhea and syphilis tests over the summer. Faith tells the Pitch that the blog is an outlet she created in an effort to slow down her talkativeness. But she doubts it's working. "I'm just as open in real life," Faith tells us. "It's hard to get me to shut up." Hey, Faith, we don't want you to.
