Best Ad Lib Poet

Bob Reeder
Kyle's Tap Room

Finish this limerick the dirtiest way you can think of: "There once was a woman from Venus ..." Now realize that whatever nastiness comes to mind can be topped by a few jovially spouted verses from Irish folk singer Bob Reeder. Every Friday night, Reeder dons a kilt and strums his guitar onstage at Kyle's Tap Room, where he croons cheery songs about young lads and lasses trying to make it in the world or just make it with each other. But it's Reeder's crowd-participation segments that will make your ears burn. At some point in the evening, he'll call for any wannabe poet to come onstage and share a bawdy limerick. That his shows often feature motherly women saying things that would get children grounded for life is all the more fun. Here's a tip: Reeder keeps a book at the bar filled with sultry verses for rhyming virgins.
