More of Kansas City on the Food Tube!

E! Television isn't the only cable channel to travel through town recently. The Food Network show Road Tasted with The Neelys stopped through town a couple of weeks ago to sample some of the best cuisine KC has to offer.

The Neelys should already be familiar with what KC has to offer, since they own a a barbecue restaurant in Memphis. Yet they stay away from the barbecue joints and focus on foods that aren't highlighted as much in this city: artisan chocolates at Christopher Elbow, seafood ravioli at Cupini's and bacon from Fritz's Smoked Meats.

We'll applaud the Neelys for taking the time to find an excellent and neighborly place like Fritz's Smoked Meats instead of doing yet another story about Fritz's State Line neighbor, Gates Barbecue. Though national media tends to forget it, this town does offer up some amazing foods that do not have barbecue sauce on them.

You can catch reruns of the Kansas City Road Tasted with the Neelys this weekend on the Food Network -- Friday at 10 p.m., Saturday at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
