One80 is like the Dorothy Parker of sandwich boards

Every time I go to Westport, I have to check out the funny, creative sandwich-board signs in front of One80.

My love of One80’s signs started last summer when the bar posted this “Jesus also drank, mo fos” statement on its door. Since then, I’ve documented a few more favorites.

For those hard of eyesight, the white chalk in the bottom-right corner says, "Suck it La Bodega."

Recently, I stopped in One80 on a Saturday to find out more about the sign makers. I met 32-year-old Jacob Miller, who was on duty that afternoon. He said that he and a few other co-workers make the signs. “We just try to come up with ideas that are eye-catching and amusing. We try to get people’s attention.”

One of Miller’s signs got a lot of response. It read: “Breakfast and lunch had a baby. We named it brunch. Come eat our baby.”
