Dan from Gone Mild makes an impassioned and intelligent plea to restaurants to stop treating their beers like a red-headed Palin-child when compared to wines. [Gone Mild]

An open invitation to Thanksgiving along with tales about unwrapping the holiday decorations. This is truly the giving spirit. [Venus in the Kitchen]

Macau, the Chinese Las Vegas, has opened more casinos in the past few years than even Sin City itself. But like somebody who stayed at the craps table too long, Macau is now hurting. [Time]

"You can check in any time you like but you can never leave." Hilton franchise now resembling Hotel California and not in a good way. [Portfolio]

An article discussing the rise of "cowpooling." That's when a group of neighbors who all want to eat local and save money decide to buy a cow together. Who wants to be in my cowpool? [NPR]

I am interested though the problem of storage raises its ugly head. It's not a problem in the winter (hello locked garbage cans in the snow!) but I could see things getting...gamey when it thaws.

As for the joke on which part I would buy, let's just say that I already have a couple of parts which ladies are free to buy pieces of.

Thank you! Thank you!

It was Heifer International. I wanted to do the llama, but Shane went for the gusto and chose heifer.

At my old job, a bunch of the guys would go in on a cow together from another the farm of another employee's relative. If you want in, I can see if/when they're doing it.

Because this is a family site, I also abstained from any jokes about which part of the cow you want to buy.

Do you know if any locals are doing it this year or what charity it was? I seriously would like to buy part of a cow.
