Dave Boulter is best known as the often-present owner of Henry's on Eighth in Lawrence. Whether working in the upstairs bar area or the downstairs coffee area, he always has time for a word or two with patrons.
Tonight, Boulter opens a new bar called Chateau 24.
Henry's has always appealed to a grad-student crowd. Chateau 24 will give those patrons -- and others -- the same options as Henry's without having to travel to crowded and wild Massachusetts Street.
Chateau is located at 2412 Iowa. Like Henry's, it has several rooms, each with a slightly different vibe.
The bar opens tonight at 5 p.m. and closes at 2 a.m. DJ Agent Rose provides dance music and there's no cover. That makes Chateau 24 sound like a nightclub but really it isn't. No word on whether it will be serving sangria, a Henry's specialty.
