Flushed with success

Posted by Owen Morris on Wed, Mar 11, 2009 at 1:00 PM

Nearly everyone with an Internet connection has seen the "Will it blend?" videos from Blendtec. Add the video below, by St. Thomas Creations, for its Quattro Super Toilet, to the "Will it flush?" category.

The answer, of course, is yes -- or the company would have left the footage on the cutting- room floor. But as you're watching three pounds of gummi bears, baby carrots and various other items go down, you can't help but notice that the company is flushing perfectly good food.

The comedian Bill Hicks used to point out that while there was a famine in Africa, in America there was a guy smashing perfectly good watermelons onstage -- and we wondered why other countries hated us. Not much has changed. The Quattro may be amazing, but St. Thomas Creations should stick to flushing nonedible items. Like say, a blender.

I flush 18 large hot dogs down my toilet on a weekly basis.

What's the skid mark ratio on this thing?
