For some reason, the internet is in crazy recipe mode with Web sites such as This is Why You're Fat drawing one million viewers and the bacon explosion creators landing a six-figure book deal. Every day it seems another food Frankenstein pops up, gets e-mailed about and forgotten a week later (100 stuffed Oreos, anyone?).
Saturday Night Live was ahead of the curve when it parodied over-the-top combos three years ago in a skit called Taco Town, featured below. The target wasn't the Internet, but nameless Mexican chains whose main draw is monster portions.
Do I even have to tell you where this is going?
Yes, someone actually made and then ate not one, not two, not three, but four Taco Town Tacos and posted the details of the preparation to MySpace.
That's a taco wrapped in a flour
tortilla with a layer of refried beans in between, wrapped in a corn
tortilla with a middle layer of monterey jack cheese, wrapped in a
deep-fried gordita shell with "guacamolito" sauce, baked it in a corn husk filled with pico de gallo, wrapped in
a crepe filled with eggs, gruyere, merguez sausage and portobello
mushroom, tucked into a Chicago- style deep dish
meat lovers pizza, and covered with a blueberry pancake, dipped into batter and fried:
Yes, I suppose someone could try to top this recipe. But not only are we getting into inedible territory, eventually someone who doesn't know what they're doing is going to injure themselves trying to drop a carton of ice cream or another liquid into frying oil. Until then, I'll keep reading and posting.

This is one of my favorite spots of the last few years on SNL. Okay; that's not saying much.
