Denny's continues to give away free food

Bill Maher once said that bacon, eggs and cheese between two waffles isn't a breakfast, it's a suicide

attempt. I wonder what he would think of Denny's newest creation, the grand slamwich, which the restaurant is now giving away free. (Don't rush off yet, there are restrictions.)

Denny's calls the grand slamwich "everything you love about the grand slam, now in a sandwich." This sandwich consists of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, American cheese, mayonnaise and a maple spiced spread between two slices of potato bread.

For those keeping count at home, that's three pork products, two spreads and one processed cheese. Plus it's served with hash browns on the side.

It normally costs $4.99 but today until 2 p.m., if you buy one grand slam, Denny's will give you one free grand slamwich as well. An original grand slam costs $5.95 and consists of two eggs, two pancakes and two strips of bacon or two sausage links.

Since the grand slam and grand slamwich are two full meals (close to 3,000 combined calories) the restaurant is promoting this as a bring-a-friend event, but you don't technically have to. Looking at the rule stipulations, if you are dining by yourself, you can order a grand slam to stay and get the grand slamwich to go.

I'm bringing my cardiologist.
