Tax day -- boo! Free things -- yeah!

It doesn't look as if Chipotle will be giving out fake tax forms for free burritos this year like it did in 2007. (Fat City readers, I'm counting on you to immediately e-mail us if they are.)

But there are other deals and give-aways. McCormick & Schmick's offers a special entree menu with items for $10.40 (get it?) in the bar area. In addition, every "tax payer" receives a $10.40 gift certificate towards future meals, though the restaurant doesn't specify how it will verify whether you're a tax payer.

Fellow Plaza tenant P.F. Changs has an all-day Tax Day Discount of 15 percent on food and beverages.

T.G.I. Fridays gives customers $5 gift cards for every purchase between $15 and $25 and a $10 gift card for purchases over $25.

Also, KMBC reports that if you order a meal from the Chick-fil-A

at 85th and State Line Road today, you can bring in your receipt in the next month and get the same meal free.

Note: Many times these deals come from corporate offices on high and individual franchisees opt out. It's always a good idea to contact the restaurant directly to confirm participation.
