April sure did bring its showers these past couple of days but now it's May which means
flowers Famers' Markets.
After holding a special winter market into January,
Bad Seed starts its organic farmers' market tonight from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Ten or so vendors will be on hand selling organic cheese, bread, coffee, jams and, of course, produce. The market is every Friday night throughout the summer and fall. Bad Seed is located in the Crossroads at 1909 McGee.
On Saturday, another organic market opens up with the
Kansas City Organics' starting its 17th season. It is in the north corner of Minor Park, to the south
east of where Holmes Road and Red Bridge Road intersect. It is a fair-trade market offering not just a wide assortment of produce and other foods, but home products such as soap and jewelry. The market is from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Also opening for the season
Saturday is the
Shawnee Farmers' Market in the parking lot of City Hall (Johnson Drive and Nieman Road) from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
