I like Brazilian steakhouses but as a skinny medium-sized male I just don't have the stomach capacity to justify paying $50 or more for an ordinary weekday meal nor do many other people. But with Em Chamas' "Blown Away in May" special you don't have to pay nearly that amount.
All this month, the Northland steakhouse features its rodizio -- that's more than 10 types of beef, lamb and pork plus full gourmet bar -- for the seriously discounted price of $24.99. That's $12 off its regular price and nearly $20 cheaper than its Plaza competition.
When Charles Ferruzza visited the meat-lover's paradise two years ago he wrote that he had "no idea that a buffet could be seriously high-quality" and called it a "mouthwatering experience to see all that juicy meat spinning and hissing."
It's a mouthwatering deal too -- and one that only lasts another 10 days.

I went last night with my parents and fiancee. It was my favorite of the three (now two) Brazilian steakhouses we have in KC. The meats were impeccably grilled, the gourmet bar was outstanding, and you're never left wanting for anything because the service is so good.
Unfortunately, there were only 2 people still dining at 8pm when we left. I think there were only two people working as well. I know it was a Wednesday, but I'm a little worried about them. They're in a fairly sparsely populated area and not in direct view from the road in a shopping center that is about 25% occupied.
Also, I had to discuss things with the server afterward to get the discounted price, even though I was told earlier in the day that it was $24.95 when I asked for the price. I don't think everyone working there knew about the deal.
Em Chamas is running regular specials through their mailing list - I think you can join through their website. My wife and I went this past Thursday evening - if you were seated before 6:00 PM, it was only $19.99 for the full rodizio.
They've done this a number of times recently, and it's the best meal deal in town in my opinion. You can't beat twenty bucks for a gourmet buffet AND all the steak and grilled meats you want.
