Domino's bread bowls -- they're alive!!!

Posted by Owen Morris on Tue, Jun 2, 2009 at 12:30 PM

Domino's pasta bowls have generated a lot of press. Not much of it positive. First there was the commercial that stirred up trouble because the talking piece of pasta (Pasta Dude) was mimicking spanking somebody doggy-style:

Things haven't gotten any better since the pasta bread-bowls have actually hit the market.

Customers are taking their own pictures of the monstrosities.

On

the left is the official photo of Domino's mac-n-cheese

bread bowl and on the right is ... well it's supposed to be the same

thing but resembles a toxic spill instead.

Other food Web sites have been

much more vicious, calling the bread bowls "carb-on-carb crime" and saying that the "superfluous" bread "isn't good."

But this cloud does have a silver lining. The above mac-n-cheese bowl has only 1,460 calories,

roughly the same as some Olive Garden meals. But if you're ordering

creamy pasta inside bread, you're probably not that worried about

calories in the first place.

"why is everyone so worried about calories. fat or slim you are going to die regardless. I love my carbs and have the belly to prove it. there is just more to love..."

Because some of us want to get laid between now and when we die. Having giant teets and a massive grotesque pile of flab in your midsection is like wearing a chastity belt.

Shouldn't that critique be addressed to the Domino's store that served the pictured item rather than to Owen?

Not if he's representing the one out of one thousand bad product as the norm. Besides, maybe the person who got it was just a dick, or had been in a car accident while driving it home. It looks to me more like the victim of a sudden car stop than anything else anyway.

The picture on the right isn't a fair representation of the pasta bread bowls.

you all are so snobby. I tried the carbonara and it was just plain delicious. I tried it a week later and it was as good as the first time. I slapped some garlic butter on my leftover bread bowl and had a good time eating that too.

Please don't blog about these again. I have chosen to live my life without the knowledge of this alleged food. I don't shit like this.

If they can sneak a booger into a sandwich, imagine what they could hide in one of those things?

The picture on the right isn't a fair representation of the pasta bread bowls. I'm working with Domino's so I've seen many pictures and reviews of the dish and they have all looked very similar to the official photo. This review has some good pics: http://ameliaswabb.blogspot.co...
