Pineapple and pizza, pickles and peanut butter, nacho cheese and pretzels, there's no shortage of odd food combinations and that is the topic of conversation on Walt's show this morning at 10 a.m.

No doubt Charles in his fellow critics will hit on the above and maybe even some local stalwarts like the strawberry-balsamic vinegar caramels at Elbow Chocolates or the peanut-butter covered hamburger (goober burger to purists) at Chef Burger.

The show is on KCUR 89.3 FM. Sitting at home or a desk or while eating scrambled eggs and lox? Stream it live from the station's Web site. Call in at 816-235-2888.

It's all a matter of personal taste. I have a friend who loves pineapple and Spam on pizza. I don't find that particularly odd, but it's too unappetizing for me. And there are panelists on the "Walt Bodine Show: who find barbecue pizza to be toon weird for words, but I love it. Keep the pineapple off, though.

OK. Why is Pepperoni and Pineapple considered odd any more than Sausage and Mushroom? I don't get that.
