If you thought the French were crazy for coming up with a chocolate inhaler, you ain't seen nothing yet. In the Philippines, they sell a chocolate toothpaste called Choco Loco. It's a kid's dream and, one would think, a dentist's nightmare. But it's the opposite. Limited research shows cocoa powder may strengthen teeth better than fluoride.
Still, toothpaste and chocolate seems awfully similar to a Saturday Night Live parody of British toothpastes:
The blog Oddee showcases some of the oddest items ever made with chocolate, most of which can have no useful purpose.
For instance, most people try in vain to keep chocolate off of their computer keyboards, but that didn't deter someone from inventing the chocolate keyboard.
Then there's a 4,000-pound F-1 car made entirely out of Belgian
chocolate that, while impressive, manages to weigh more than twice an
actual F-1 auto.
Better chocolate gifts focus less on the shape
of the chocolate and more on the taste. The luxury blog Luxist discovered The Vosges Sensory Collection, with 40 single-origin chocolates from all over the world, along with
42 aroma essences and a guidebook to manage it all. It's not cheap at
$375, but considering single-origin chocolates can easily command $10 or
more apiece, it's not a rip-off either.
You can't go wrong with a normal Hershey bar either.
