That's all folks!

Well readers, today is my last day as a Fat City blogger. I am moving on, or, to be more exact,

moving away, and will no longer be able to report on the local food scene.

I'm grateful to the hundreds of people who graciously granted me interviews, sent me tips, alerted me to errors and otherwise helped me blog six or seven posts a day. A humongous virtual hug to you all for making this job possible for the past 13 months -- which is like six years in blog time. I know I've promised to have drinks/dinners with many of you and I fully intend to make good those promises.

But until then -- goodbye and good eating.

I'm so bummed you're gone! I hope it was to pursue something even more fantastic. Thanks for your support and kudos whenever I food-blogged, too - I always appreciated it. (New guy doesn't do this. New dude! Grow your feet - you've got big shoes to fill!)

Wow! Thank you to all who've commented so far. I read and linked to local blogs for more pleasure than work and I'll continue to read and wow -- I'm kindof blabbering at my computer right now. You've made my week.

Not fair! I hope you move up the ladder to better things; you deserve it.

So now, who will know I'm out here in cyberspace?

Say it ain't so, Owen! I've grown addicted to the Fat City blogs. Yours has been just wonderful. Thanks for your contribution. There will be an emptiness in my....uh....stomach. A Town Topic burger will fill the emptiness, but only temporarily. Hurry back to us.

Noooo! When I'd put together the roundups for Daily Fork I always knew I could count on you for something great to link out to. Your stuff was always some of my favorite content, and I'm selfishly going to miss your writing.

Best of luck though, and all that good stuff...grumble grumble...

Owen,

I rarely commented, but was an everyday reader. I greatly enjoyed your work and wish you the best of luck in the future. Thanks for making my day a little better for the past year.

Hey, Morris, if I knew this was just a temporary thing, I would have never invested as much time with you!

It's been great getting to know you, and thank you for not inviting me to the bread bowl thing. Remember that there's always a beer waiting for you at our house.

This place won't be the same without you. Now when I read Fat City, I won't think of the guy who made me ingest the most vile food on the planet, the Domino's pasta bowl.

Ditto what Meesha said, you did a great job around here and managed to play nice with jackass bloggers like us in the process.

Thank you for consistently delivering good, useful, entertaining information. You'll be missed. Hopefully that hack Bender will bring it.

There are care packages in your future containing BBQ beans, Clear 10 vodka, pumpkin beer and foil-wrapped pieces of pizza from Costco. You will be missed very much, especially on Friday afternoons.

I literally just whined at my computer screen, "Where are you going, Owen?" Out loud. (Because I'm cool.)

Srsly, though, where are you going? ::crosses arms and taps foot impatiently::

I'm gonna miss ya, man.
