| You can eat corn or walk through the stalks at Ciderfest |
Unlike that other Apple Festival I attended a couple of weeks ago, where there were shockingly few apples to be seen or eaten, the Louisburg Cider Mill has an abundance of fresh apples and apple delicacies such as the most delicious cider doughnuts ever. The apple cider, of course, is fantastic and so are the apple slushie drinks.

Whenever I try to make kettle corn in my kitchen, I have found a little secret when producing it. Lift the top and blend it when it is popping, this way you will not have everything burning up about the underlying part in the skillet.
My partner and I honestly produce kettle corn for festivals along with other spots. Everybody would love to generate it in your own home, but it's challenging. Sugar wants to burn quickly whenever your doing it on a oven, therefore the strategy should be to stir it with a wooden spoon when it is popping.
A group of friends is headed out to Louisburg this weekend for the "Cider and Tigers" tour.
We start at the (well-known) Louisburg Cider Mill, then head east to the (surprisingly little-known) Cedar Cove Feline Sanctuary, where you can get up close and personal with tigers and leopards. I visited for the first time last year and really enjoyed it.
