Monster-themed booze

Tequila and milk is the scariest drink I know. But it turns out there are a surprising number of booze options to guests this Halloween.

The newest to market is The Kraken Black Spiced Rum, inspired by the legendary monsters of the deep (likely giant squids) off the coast of Norway that were said to snatch and sink whole ships. At 94 proof, this will put "beast in your belly."

It joins Vampyre Vodka, which the Beverage Warehouse notes was "developed in England for the distinguished vodka drinker with a sense of adventure." The 80-proof liquor comes in red and white.

For those who would rather give their cocktails a scary name, there's a full complement of horror-inspired cocktails beyond the McNuggetini. Off this list, consider a ghoblin ghoulade (vodka, black raspberry liquor, lime and cranberry juice) or jack-o-lantern punch (a cold rum-based punch that likely tastes and warms you like a heated, mulled drink).

Wine drinkers have more choices than you might expect. Vampire Vineyards makes a coterie of wines: Syrah, Merlot, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir -- all of which will likely set you back less than $10, which is probably the right price for what is essentially a novelty. Those looking for true authenticity can go for a bottle of Dracula's Blood, wine from Transylvania. Both vampire-inspired vintages are available at McGonigle's Market.

And as always, for those who just need to fill a bathtub with beer, there is the the original Beast -- Milwaukee's Best.
