You need plans. Fat City has a recycle bin full of listings. In this post, all our problems are solved.

Weird things always happen on Friday the 13th. So you might as well embrace the spookiness and get to Californos for its Haunted Bar. Scary movies are promised at the Westport haunt for the freaky evening that kicks off at 10 p.m.

If you're still figuring out what to serve for Thanksgiving, Off the Vine Design & Cellar can help with a Thanksgiving wine tasting from 6:30 to 8 tonight at the Gaslight Grill in Overland Park. Joe Ancona of Vineyard Brands leads a tasting of eight wines and ports that pair with traditional Thanksgiving foods. The tasting is $10 for non-members, $5 for members. Make the required reservation by calling 913-681-7960.

This is the time of year for chili and thankfully Turn on The Heat

-- a fundraiser for the Arts Incubator in the Crossroads -- is

here again to satisfy your cravings. Now in its fifth year, the event is

this Saturday from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m., with more than 20 kinds of

gourmet chili from local restaurants and an open bar

where you can enjoy Boulevard Beer and the above-pictured

jalapeno-infused vodka from the Record Bar. Tickets are $25.

Blues and barbecue are good for the soul and you've got the chance to increase your consumption of both on Sunday at B.B.'s Lawnside BBQ. Dave McBee -- inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame earlier this year -- and the Confessors hit the stage at 6 p.m. Grab a slab of ribs and settle in for a while. Tickets are $4.

Although Veterans Day has passed, those in the military haven't been forgotten. Colorado Technical University offers a free dinner on Monday in an event intended to educate reservists, veterans and other members of the military about education benefits, including the Yellow Ribbon Fund and post 9/11 GI Bill. The dinner and information session is from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kansas City campus (520 E. 19th Ave. in North Kansas City). More information is available at 816-303-7799.

Finally, take advantage of a new happy hour downtown: Raglan Road

in the Power & Light District offers a reverse happy hour on

Fridays from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. and Sunday through Thursday from 10

p.m. to close, with draught beers at half price.
