Learn the story of how beans from around the globe make their way to Kansas City tomorrow morning when the Roasterie's founder Danny O'Neill talks about his coffee business and recent travels as part of Park University School of Business' Global Entrepreneurship Week.
O'Neill will be speaking in the McCoy Meetin' House at the Parkville campus at 11 a.m. His lecture at Park University -- he sits on the Board of Trustees -- is free and open to the public.
If you can't make it to Parkville, you can always follow O'Neill's travels on Danny's Musings, a group blog about the latest happenings at the Roasterie and abroad.
On the homefront, the expansion is complete and the remodel continues at the Roasterie Cafe in Brookside, with the installation of new flat screen televisions, a new counter and a massive wall photo of a silver airplane -- an homage to the air-roasted coffee's logo. (Pictures are on the Roasterie's Facebook page). On Danny's Musings, O'Neill writes:
It is really beautiful and if you haven't been by, we sure hope you'll come check it out soon. The biggest complaint since we've opened is "there are not enough places to sit down." We should gain at least 30-35 seats and the layout is much, much more efficient. And in conjunction with the launch of the coffee roaster's new Web site, the Roasterie is looking for area residents who would like to turn coffee grounds into compost -- the Cafe has a surplus available.

Who painted over the Roasterie sign on the side of their old building?
Not sure if any of your other readers have asked this...but what sort of theme are you using for your blog? I really like the style. I am running a blog too but cannot ever seem to find my perfect theme. This one is really close ...however I'd perhaps tweak a few things in the Header for my style. thx.
