Attention, entrepreneurs! This one-time walk-up ice cream and hot dog stand -- with a primo location on 39th Street's "Restaurant Row" -- is for lease. The place was closed all summer, damn it, so it's time for someone to grab it.
While we always love an outdoor sculpture of an ice cream cone, we're thinking it doesn't have to be an ice cream and hot dog stand. We'd be just as happy with a walk-up burrito and churro stand. (Come to think of it, some authentic Mexican might give the Chipotle across the street a run for its money.)

After watching several people go belly-up in that space, I believe I'll pass. Yeah, there's plenty of foot traffic. Problem is, it's all headed to nearby restaurants where you can sit down to eat.
You know what just might make it? A stand that sold all that crap you can buy at the county fair - deep-fried Snickers bars, cotton candy, funnel cakes and that sort of thing. But I think opening yet another hot-dog stand or frozen yogurt stand there would be a quick path to bankruptcy.
I wish someone would turn it into a Maoz falafel stand, or if not that location, put a Maoz somewhere in KC. They are fantastic!!

I just don't want to be the one to do it. I would eat there at least weekly though.
