Today is National Cupcake Day. Who cares?

Is it politically incorrect to hate cupcakes? They are, after all, a visual delight. Who could pass up one of those pretty little pastries?

Me for one.

You might think of cupcakes as miniature versions of a full-sized cake, but they aren't. Cupcakes are really all about the sugary frosting, which can sometimes be as high and wide as the cupcake itself. The cupcake also seems to dry out a lot faster than a slice of cake and if you're stuck with a batch of the little things, you wind up throwing a few of them in the trash anyway.

And in case you think I'm the only one who hates cupcakes, read this. And this (David Chang "fuckin' hates cupcakes"). And this. I'm just saying, it's a trend.
