Start dusting off your tasting glass and training your palate -- the Boulevard Brewery has announced its first two Brewmaster Luncheons for next year.

The popular series involves a VIP tour of the brewery and lunch with Brewmaster Steven Pauwels and a guest restaurateur who has designed a menu to go with Boulevard beer. The tour begins at 11:30 a.m., while the three-course lunch is at 1:30 p.m.

On Friday, February 26, J. Gilbert's provides the food; on Friday, March 26, it's the American Restaurant. Here's hoping for stout and steak pairing in February and Imperial Pilsner with clams or another seafood dish in March.

These luncheons usually feature samples of what's in the pipeline during the tour and a taste of the latest Smokestack offering. KC Beer Blog and A Beer Sort of Blog have write-ups covering lunches from earlier this year with Barley's Brewhaus and Nick & Jake's.

The luncheons fill up quickly -- it's typically only a few tables -- hence the very early notice. To make a reservation, call 816-701-7210 and specify "Brewmaster Luncheon Reservation." Tickets are $35 and seating is limited.
