Chef Kamal is in a falafel mood
We're suddenly in a falafel reverie here in Fat City. First we discovered the excellent falafel served at the Olive Cafe and now we've learned about a free falafel night!

Local entrepreneur Yahia Kamal -- he prefers to be called Chef Kamal -- the founder of the Kansas City-based Yummy's Choice line of Mediterranean food products (feta cheese, hummus, pita bread, pita chips, lebanch spread) -- hosts a "falafel night" on February 5 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at his offices at 1608 W. 39th Street, in the same building that houses the Jerusalem Cafe (the entrance to the Yummy's offices is on the side of the building).

"I'm going to be serving falafel sandwiches, falafel burgers, falafel wraps, tabbouleh salad and lemonade," Kamal says.

The meal is free, he says, but falafel fans will need to make a reservation at the Yummy's Choice Facebook page.
