The Sunday brunch at Trezo Mare, which began two weeks ago, might not have the dramatic view or the sumptuous array of fare that Benton's offers, but it's a truly satisfying and well-done affair with a menu of interesting dishes -- including chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, a cheesy croque monsieur sandwich, a crab cake benedict (there's also the traditional version with seared pit ham steak), chorizo chilaquiles, made-to-order eggs and a burger.
By ordering one of the brunch dishes, patrons are entitled to load up a plate (or two) at the buffet in the center of the dining room, which included sliced Italian meats (salami, cappacola ham), various cheese, a leafy green salad with an excellent garlic-dill ranch dressing, pasta salad, various breakfast pastries and muffins and an assortment of desserts including, of course, little squares of tiramisu. But very good tiramisu!
