For those who aren't concerned with basketball, Em Chamas' Third Fridays
is a celebration of cocktails and capoeira. Brazilian dance-fighting
exhibitions accompany meats from the Brazilian grill and caipirinhas
(cachaca and lime) on Friday, March 19. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. on

The Roasterie offers free tours of its roasting facility (1204 W. 27th St.) every Saturday at 9 a.m. Reservations are required, so call 816-931-4000. The tour covers the history of coffee, the practice of cupping, and how the Roasterie makes its coffee. Keep it in mind the next time your folks come to visit.
The Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice luncheon is at noon on Saturday at the historical Bingham-Waggoner Estate in Independence. Gather your thoughts on liberty this weekend: Sunday is the next meeting for the local chapter of Drinking Liberally. The group meets at 7 p.m. at the Westport Flea Market to discuss politics over drinks. So, even if you're not that into politics, at least there are drinks.
