I believe McCormick's bourbon - while no longer made in KC - is made outside of old Kaintuck. It's not only commercially available, it's pretty much unavoidable around KC. Virginia Gentleman bourbon was made - oddly enough - in Virginia, but recent change in ownership may have closed the VA distillery. The good vodka makers over in Atchison KS released some whiskey called High Plains bourbon - but frankly, I'm not sure if it's aged long enough in new, charred white oak barrels to be legally called bourbon. It can, however, be called 'tasty dark brown vodka' with a clear conscience.
