Noodles & Company continues its push into the Kansas City market with a new location opening in Independence tomorrow and another slated to open at the end of summer in Prairie Village. The fast-casual restaurant offers customizable pastas, salads and soups.
The newest joint in the Independence Mall (2140 Independence Center Drive) opens its doors at 10:30 a.m. Back in March, Noodles & Company launched its fifth area location at 540 Nichols Road -- in the former McDonald's on the Plaza.
The menu at Noodles & Company is standard -- divided into regions of Asian, Mediterranean and American dishes with four pasta, soup and salad options in each region. The mall location has a beer and wine license and will serve Boulevard Wheat and Pale Ale as well as Miller Lite and Miller Genuine Draft. You can also get wine by the glass -- an Alamos chardonnay, Cavit pinot grigio, Beringer merlot and Yellow Label chiraz.
The lease has been signed on the Prairie Village location. It's in the same shopping center as the Prairie Village Hy-Vee (7620 State Line Road). Construction has begun; Noodles & Company spokeswoman Jaclyn Grossfield says she expects the new restaurant to be open in late August or early September.
