Your sticker on a Chiquita banana

Banana stickers have evolved over my lifetime. Simple brand stamps with produce tags to be scanned by the cashier have evolved into pithy slogans. Despite all that, I'm not sure bananas will ever be an impulse buy.

Banana stickers are getting another makeover in July.  Chiquita Banana is sponsoring a sticker design contest to remind people that the company is still, uh, bananas.

The design is limited to the classic blue oval with white and yellow as your accent colors. You can't reference "Miss Chiquita" or use text or letters. So you'll need to figure out an image for your sticker entry.

Most of the early entries seem to focus on either repeating banana patterns or cartoon faces. Perhaps you can draw inspiration from another animated fruit -- the California Raisins. We can't escape the '80s, so why fight it?

You can enter up to 25 designs. The sticker contest ends July 18. Chiquita will pick 50 finalists and announce them on August 23. After that, the Internet will take over, and voting will continue until September 12. Then the world will discover which 18 designs will be featured on Chiquita bananas.
